MR203: Hand-Woven Moroccan Runner – Agafay Sunset Ombre
MR203: Hand-Woven Moroccan Runner – Agafay Sunset Ombre
There is a distinct movement in interior design that states red is a new neutral. The weaver of this magnificent one-off runner has captured the perfect ombre of a deep red sunset falling over the Agafay Desert near Marrakech. Starting out vibrant, warm, and strong, the wool effortlessly transitions and fades into a more subdued, gentle coral hue. There is no over-gilding the lily here; the designer-weaver possessed the confidence to know that sometimes, less is truly more.
The minimalist face features delicate, abstract motifs rendered in muted earth shades. Wonderfully soft, comfortable, and inherently non-conformist, this unique runner serves as a masterclass in how a simple colour palette can be deeply evocative, expressive, and stylish. It is the perfect piece to bring character to a hallway, landing, or the side of a bed.

The Mark Of The Weaver
The Mark Of The Weaver
Our handmade Moroccan wool rugs often have irregular borders, asymmetrical patterns, or charming colour shifts (called abrash), which gives a sense of the artisan and celebrates their craft.
Because these rugs are woven by hand on traditional vertical looms without written patterns, they are beautifully asymmetrical. The geometric motifs often shift and change along the rug, telling the story of the weaver's life and thoughts as she created it. These variations are not flaws, but the proud signature of a human hand
